Born in St. Louis, Missouri, William LaChance became a landscape painter and art educator, teaching at the University of Maryland and the Henry Radford Hope School of Fine Art at Indiana University. In addition, he has lectured at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago and was an Artist in Residence at The Chautauqua Institute in New York. La Chance earned his BFA degree in painting at the Kansas City Art Institute and MFA from Indiana University. LaChance is currently a co-owner of the Hoffman LaChance Contemporary Gallery, located in Maplewood, MO.
